I introduced my great great grandfather Lawrence Huber in a prior blog post. This is the second post in a series explaining how I found his town of origin.
In 2013, I was helping my parents move from a home where they had lived for almost sixty years. In their attic, I discovered a tin cocoa can holding several documents. One was a letter that Lawrence Huber’s brother-in-law, Michael Doll, sent to him from Oberkirch, Germany in 1849. I blogged about this several years ago. Read the full details here.

There was also an 1855 letter from his brother, Joseph, who lived in Belleville, Illinois at that time. Information in the two letters told me that Lawrence had yet another brother named George. Before finding these letters, I had no idea that Lawrence had these two additional brothers.

This information will all be helpful and necessary to make sure I find the right family for Lawrence when researching him in German records. I believe he was born about July 1817 and he had the above siblings.
Piecing this information together, I started building a family of origin for Lawrence. His siblings were:
